Build your personal brand
We've designed a toolkit to guide you through the steps of stitching ISP into your personal brand.
First things first, follow ISP on LinkedIn
Step 1: Add post-nominals
As an ISP member, you are entitled to use post-nominals after your name, which correspond to your level of membership.
The value of post-nominals:
- Displays dedication to the sales profession
- Demonstrates commitment to ethical practices
- Enhances your personal brand by differentiating you from competitors
Step 2: Announce certifications
Certifications like the ISP's Sales Ethics are a vital component of your content strategy and deserve to be shared with your network.
The benefits of announcing:
- Offers solid evidence of your industry knowledge
- Increases your visibility among potential customers
- Proves you are actively staying up-to-date with industry trends
Step 3: Upload ISP logo
We encourage you to upload the ISP logo that applies to your level of membership, to your LinkedIn 'Featured' section. This helps to prove your legitimacy as a salesperson.
Here's how to do this if you've not already got it set up:
- On your profile, click 'Add profile section'
- Under the 'Recommended' tab, select 'Add featured'
- Click the '+' symbol on the page that appears
- Select 'Add media' to choose the logo you want to add
- Feel free to add in a brief description so your profile viewers know what the logo represents
- Click 'Save' to make the changes live
Step 4: Update background image
We provide you with an ISP branded graphic to use as your LinkedIn background image. This displays to your profile visitors that you're a member of the Institute, helping to gain their trust.
How to add the graphic:
- Go to your LinkedIn profile page
- Click the pencil or camera icon (depending on whether you already have one uploaded) in the top right corner of your background image
- Select 'Change photo' or 'Upload Photo' to add the ISP graphic
- Click 'Apply' to save the changes

"I decided to take up ISP membership as I thought it beneficial to my role in sales to be a member of a professional association.
I've found that it has made my personal brand more reputable and trusted within my industry. Having access to the community has been extremely valuable also.
Also, if I'm being completely honest - it's pretty nice having letters after my name."
