We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP) in Canada, marking a significant milestone in the development of the Canadian sales sector. This expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for professional standards, certification and support for sales professionals across the country.
Matthew Nicolle, the Canadian President of the Institute of Sales Professionals, is at the forefront of this exciting new venture. A highly accomplished sales leader and consultant, Matthew brings a wealth of experience and passion for sales excellence to his leadership role at ISP Canada. As CEO of Sales Training Experts, one of Canada’s premier sales consulting firms, Matthew has consistently driven revenue growth and developed high-performing teams. In addition to his leadership at ISP Canada, Matthew also serves as an adjunct professor in the University of New Brunswick’s MBA program, where he teaches in Canada’s first graduate business development and professional sales stream.
Matthew’s insights on the current state of the Canadian sales sector underscore the need for ISP’s presence. “Over 1 million working professionals in Canada hold sales titles, yet research shows that over half of undergraduate students entering sales roles have never taken a sales course,” he explains. “The need for a professional body dedicated to sales certification and accreditation is clear! This highlights a critical gap in professional development and support for the sales sector.”
ISP Canada aims to address this gap by providing much-needed advocacy, learning and development, research and resources for sales professionals, higher education institutions, non-profits and the private sector. As a non-profit organisation, ISP Canada will focus on advancing sales excellence and helping individuals and organisations achieve their full potential in the competitive marketplace.
Dan Hodgetts, Chief Operating Officer of ISP UK, shares his excitement about ISP’s growth into Canada: “The Institute of Sales Professionals is delighted to have the opportunity to establish itself across Canada to continue the great work of the Canadian Professional Sales Association. We have already established some great working partnerships with local approved training partners, higher education institutions and corporate organisations who see the value of transferring their CPSA membership over to ISP to continue the drive for continuing professional development and representation of the sales professional across the country. We welcome every CPSA individual, corporate or training provider member to discuss your options with myself and Matt Nicolle.”
ISP Canada’s launch is a pivotal step in advancing the sales profession across the country and we’re excited to be a part of this transformative journey. We invite all sales professionals, educators, and organisations to join us in this exciting new chapter as we work to shape the future of sales in Canada.
