Westfield Health celebrates customer service with prestigious sales award

Congratulations to Westfield Health – the first health and wellbeing company to gain a prestigious award from the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP) which recognises the organisation’s commitment to expert selling and customer service.

The coveted Investor in Sales award is conferred when at least 75% of a sales team passes the ISP’s ethical registration exam which tests selling skills, knowledge, professional integrity and decision making.

Westfield Health decided that the exam and professional registration should be their priority when they joined the ISP, and the company’s salespeople worked to pass the test within the first couple of months.

To qualify, candidates must score at least 85%. A new exam has to be taken every two years so salespeople need to keep their skills and knowledge up to date to remain on the ISP’s professional register of competent, ethical salespeople.

The exam is based on the Institute’s Fair ethics programme. Salespeople who are members of the Institute sign up to our code of conduct, pledging to Follow the rules; provide Appropriate solutions in the best interests of their customers, stakeholders and the organisations they work for; act with Integrity; and Raise the bar with continuing professional development.

Westfield has been supporting the health of the nation since 1919 and now works with 400,000 customers and more than 8,000 companies. The organisation’s focus on customer service has achieved a net promoter score of 73.3% and a customer satisfaction rating of 4.9, from a survey of 68,000 respondents.

Chris Capon, the UK’s distribution director at Westfield Health said:

“We are delighted to receive this celebrated award from the Institute of Sales Professionals. We’re proud to have passed the ISP’s ethical registration exam and to appear on their public register which is a clear statement from our organisation showing the importance of building strong relationships with our customers based on trust and professional service. All the team have put a lot of effort into achieving this award, and I am immensely proud of the way they have embraced the opportunity to not only develop their professional skill set, but also gain professional accreditation for “how” they approach their individual professional practice.

Our membership of the ISP is crucial to the way we do business and will be increasingly important in the future. The Institute nurtures and rewards continuing professional development and we share the view that investing in the skills and knowledge of our salespeople means they are motivated and valued, and this feeds into the way they interact with our customers.”

Patrick Joiner, managing director of the Institute of Sales Professionals said:

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Westfield Health who joined us earlier this year and hit the ground running to gain our Investor in Sales award.

As we encourage more companies to join our campaign to develop and promote sales excellence, we are pleased that Westfield Health has become the first in the insurance, health and wellbeing sector to join the ISP and achieve this important award.

“Many congratulations to Chris and his team, and we look forward to building a strong partnership that will encourage professional skills and knowledge and continue to support great customer service.”
